This item is a 30% recycled, kimono inspired clutch bag which is made by up-cycling an antique Maru obi to be the main body of the bag. It comes with new detachable hardware and a wooden frame. Within kimono, Maru obi have a long history starting from the Edo era, However, they got their renounced popularity during the Meiji and Taisho eras.
We believe sustainable fashion as the best way to love and enjoy fashion. Each item of clothing that’s vintage, 2nd hand or gifted has it’s own story to tell from the stains to nips. Uber Dandy Kimono uses vintage Japanese kimono and obi to create garments accessories. While we do our best to select ones that are stainless, we always prioritise the beauty of the motifs and fabric over nips and stains.
