The colours embody the universal essence of autumn.

Taking inspiration from the Baroque Period, UDK has styled the yukata with modern accessories and items of clothing. Several capes are a part of the collection, designed to feature characteristics of the kimono yet also appropriate for modern day wear and styling. They compliment the yukata in addition to showing off more of the wonderful prints. We’re shown how the versatility of the fabric prints when worn in combination with modern clothes and accessories. The modern baroque kimono.

Nkechi is an Igbo word meaning ‘what God has given’. The name belongs to one of the first friends made by UDK in the UK. Tia has always loved the name and the owner, whom never ceased to impress Tia during Secondary School – even more so with how proud she was of her mixed race. The mother of Nkechi ‘one of the most beautiful people’ Tia has ever seen.

There are many things which inspire UDK, however Tia believes there is something to learn from every person she meets. Due to this, she makes sure to make an effort with observing each person she meets so she can be more informed about them. It helps determine what it is she may ascertain from the person. This is a principle which has been taken from Tia’s relationship with Nkechi. Particularly because of how Nkechi has taught her confidence in addition to showing her how to be a steady constant in a person’s life. A true embodiment of her name, Nkechi.
